You probably already know, but this is the second week of my full-time job. Last week I started working for Preserve Marriage Washington. We are the official campaign heading up Referendum-74. This referendum will allow citizens of Washington State to approve or reject ESSB 6239 which made “same-sex” marriage legal in Washington. Right now we are amidst gathering close to 150,000 petition signatures to get this Referendum on the ballot in November. (We have 30K some signatures and need 150K in only a month – miracle, please!)

On Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays I drive to Lynnwood, WA which is north of Seattle. If you’re unfamiliar with the Seattle area, that’s a long drive. Especially having to bypass Seattle mid-way. Thankfully, some good friends of ours who live just a few miles from the office are letting me stay with them on Monday evenings. On Tuesdays I arrive early and leave at 3PM, which spares me from traffic (a little!) On Wednesdays and Fridays I work from home – which I love.

Anyway, I’m asking for your prayers. It’s been a busy couple of weeks and we are “feeling” the opposition. Although voters in 31 states have previously opposed gay-marriage on the ballot, Washington is a tough dark state. The warfare is thick, and I’m thankful we don’t fight flesh and blood. We are banking on God’s mercy to help us “follow suit” and do the right thing – preserving marriage between one man and one woman…

Courage
That the church in Washington would break the spiral of silence
Strength
Wisdom
His Plans, not ours
For Mercy
For petitions to be returned quickly!
For the Preserve Marriage WA team and others around this state
For prayer to rise up amidst our group and the state.
Pastors to take a stand
For fear of God and not fear of man
Against the powers of darkness
That the enemy would lose his hold

And the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. 2 Timothy 2:24
